This site is located near the Ivotuk airstrip, a low arctic tundra site located between the Colville River and the Brooks Range near the East Fork of the Etivluk River.  It was established as part of the NSF sponsored Arctic Transitions in the Land-Atmosphere System (ATLAS) project (1998-2000).  The vegetation cover at this site is moss dominated.
