Type:anthropogenic: trenching (appr. 6 x 100 m)
Distance From Heat:40 m
Other Disturbance:anthropogenic: small road
Distance From Heat:30 m
Slope:5 °

Permafrost Zone:Discontinuous
Lithology:This site is south of the Top of the World Highway in the Yukon, close to the Alaska border. It is a mountainous region with most mountains being within a similar range of height, varying by approximately 300m. Mountain tops are fairly gentle and eroded. Area was never glaciated.
Morphology:The borehole is on a broad plateau, with a gentle upslope to the south to a higher top of the mountain (50m away), and for 180˚ to the north of the borehole the slope is very gentle for about 100m, then gradually gets steeper downwards.
