0-5.2 m – blue-gray lacustrine silt. Ice content is at depth of 3.5 to 5.2 m is 30-45%. Thermal settlement of ice-rich (lacustrine silt) permafrost is characteristic of the study site.
Morphology:
The borehole is located in a dry plain of a depression close to a steep thermo-erosion bank of the Sharga river (about 20 m high). Ice wedge is wide-spread here.
